Trading out of Hobart – An Oral History on Film
Small sailing craft continued to trade out of Hobart till the late 1950’s. The lifestyle of the men who sailed these vessels had changed little in generations. It was rough and primitive, but they sailed vessels of unequal practicality and beauty. In this series of interviews the last sailors explain just what life was like aboard during the 1930’s and 40’s. Their memories are illustrated with rare archival footage period photos and colour footage of the area today. Running time 67 minutes plus a 20 minute tour of the “Enterprise” with Scotchie McDougall
